Let’s see. I know this section is supposed to be all hoity-toity with my accomplishments, my degrees, certifications, and my mission. BUT, I’m not about that. I’m not much for formal study and I hate to sit in classes and workshops. Yes, I went to college but except for the job I had managing the student games room and applying what I learned from all my business classes, I didn’t like it much.
Here’s who I really am and why you may want to work with me . . . I’m a mom of two gifted daughters. One went to Wellesley College and is now out on her own working in the non-profit sector. The other is a gifted artist in training going to art classes and surviving school until she can become a fashion designer. I’ve been married for 19 years to a wonderful, funny, very supportive husband. We met at his family’s business, which explains the next tidbit. I’m a former CEO of a family business. I worked for that company for 17 years. That business didn’t survive the economic changes but it was an invaluable teaching resource that left me well-rounded in running a small business.
I am an nondenominational ordained minister. I was curious one day on how to become one and found out you can go online and become one by filling out a form. I seriously felt an instant change and I felt somewhat holy after I received my confirmation. Considering I’m not a religious person in the least I found this very strange. Now, let’s be clear. Not being religious does not mean I am not spiritual. I’m just not into the structure of religion. See my opening statement and you’ll understand why. I’m an avid learner but I enjoy most independent study. I like learning what I know what I know when I want to know it. I have studied small business and career options since 1983. In fact, I realized just recently that I have been studying them through all the romance novels I read since I was 12 years old. People think I was reading them for the romance part but really I was reading them for all the different jobs and lives the characters led. I have been coaching and inspiring people to expand the view of their lives for a long as I can remember. I’m a natural born coach who does it subconsciously. I have been practicing on family, employees and friends for as long as I remember.
Why am I telling you all of this? It’s because I wanted to show you a chain of events in my life that reveal my passions, my purpose, and a few of my gifts and talents. All the words I've highlighted point to what I love to do and part of who I am. How about your story? I love a good story and I bet your life is one. Maybe you’re not seeing it clearly. Maybe you need someone who can change how you see it and turn into something that you use to start a business, a new career, or a different retirement. Whatever you want. Learn to look at your life from a different viewpoint, from someone experienced at looking at a person’s life and seeing it’s potential.
